Why this one exists

This is the slower cousin of the single-leg fold. The extra time is for people who rush the first stretch and never breathe.

Set up

Same starting shape as the single-leg fold, but you allow a slight turn of the chest over the long leg and a longer hold.

Steps

  1. Inhale, lengthen the spine.
  2. Exhale, walk the hands toward the long foot.
  3. Let the neck stay in line with the spine — the name is traditional, not a command to force the head to the knee.
  4. Switch sides.

What you should feel

Hamstring plus a mild side-body length toward the long leg.

Skip if it hurts

If the name tempts you to yank, pick the supine strap stretch instead.

Common mistakes

Do not bounce the forehead toward the shin.
